HERITAGE // 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING

From a 1996 Hometown Web Pioneer to a Futuristic 3D World Network

On July 14, 1996, the Brainerd Dispatch featured 29-year-old founder Scot Kinney and the original City Link — built to help local communities and main-street businesses step onto the World Wide Web for the very first time.

In 2023, the next-generation CityLink.world 3D hub debuted in Salt Lake City. Today in 2026, powered by spatial 3D world generation and Fortnite’s global cross-platform ecosystem, that original hometown mission has evolved into a futuristic portal where anyone can explore real cities, join local celebrations, and play together from anywhere in the world.
